We also challenge the credibility of the state’s witnesses through vigorous cross-examination. We test the strength of the prosecution’s case, making them show that they have sufficient evidence to prove every element of each of your criminal charges. About Mount Holly, NJ

Mount Holly is a township located in Burlington County, New Jersey. An eastern suburb of Philadelphia, Mount Holly was incorporated as Northampton Township as one of New Jersey’s first 104 townships in 1798, having first been settled by European settlers in 1677 who established grist and sawmills using dams on Rancocas Creek. Portions of Mount Holly were taken to form Little Egg Harbor Township in 1740, Washington Township in 1802, the borough of Pemberton in 1826, Coaxen Township in 1845, Pemberton Township in 1846, Westampton Township in 1850 and Lumberton Township in 1860. The township was renamed Mount Holly in 1931 for the holly trees covering the hills in the township. Mount Holly also lends its name to the National Weather Service’s forecast office for the Philadelphia metropolitan area (although the office is located in nearby Westampton Township).

Frequently Asked Questions about Mount Holly, NJ Criminal Defense

FAQ: Will my prior criminal convictions have any effect on my present case?

Potentially. If you are convicted, the court may consider past criminal convictions that you have had in determining your sentence. If you have prior convictions, especially prior convictions for the same offense that you are being tried for, the court may have the discretion to increase your sentence or may be obligated to impose a more severe sentence.

FAQ: Do out-of-state convictions count on my prior criminal record?

Yes. New Jersey criminal justice system officials have access to the criminal records kept by all the other states. If you are arrested and convicted of a crime in New Jersey, the courts will count your out-of-state convictions as part of your prior criminal record during sentencing. If you have been convicted of a crime in another state that doesn’t have an identical crime under New Jersey law, the courts will determine the most similar offense under New Jersey law to your prior out-of-state conviction.
