    About Cinnaminson Township, NJ

Cinnaminson Township is located in Burlington County, New Jersey. Bordering the Delaware River, Cinnaminson Township is a suburb of Philadelphia. Cinnaminson Township was incorporated in 1860 from portions of present-day Maple Shade; portions of Cinnaminson Township were later taken to form Delran Township in 1880, Riverton in 1893, and Palmyra in 1894. The name of the township is said to derive from the Lenape word “senamensing”, which means “sweet water”; other sources claim that the name comes from other Native American words meaning “stone island”. Cinnaminson Township is home to multiple performing arts groups, including the Burlington County Footlighters production company founded in 1983, an all-ages regional chorus, and a wind ensemble.

Frequently Asked Questions about Criminal Defense in Cinnaminson Township, NJ

FAQ: Will my case go to trial?

Most criminal cases end up being resolved before going to trial. While many cases are resolved by plea agreement, where the defendant agrees to plead guilty in exchange for the prosecution recommending a lighter sentence that the defendant likely would have received if convicted at trial, in other cases it is possible to obtain a reduction in the severity of charged crimes or even dismissal of some or all your charges. We work diligently to investigate the facts and circumstances of your case to identify strong evidence in your favor and weaknesses in the state’s case, so that we can obtain the best possible outcome under the circumstances of your case, whether that is a plea agreement, a reduction of your charges, or even a dismissal of some or all of your charges.

FAQ: What happens when my case goes to trial?

If you decide to contest your criminal charges at trial, the trial will begin with jury selection (if you exercised your right to a jury trial), where any jurors who may have biases or inability to be fair and impartial in your case are excluded. Once the jury is selected, both parties will present opening statements. The prosecution will then present its evidence and witnesses; you will be afforded the opportunity to cross-examine the state’s evidence and witnesses. You will then have the opportunity to present your own evidence and witnesses in your defense, which may also be cross-examined by the prosecution. After both parties make closing statements, the jury will deliberate the evidence and return a verdict of guilty or not guilty, or depending on the offense, inform the court that it cannot reach a verdict.
