    About Marlton, NJ

Marlton is an unincorporated community that is located within Evesham Township in Burlington County, New Jersey. Marlton was founded by English and Welsh settlers in 1676, although the area was not referred to by the name Marlton until the early 1800s. The name “Marlton” derives from the marl clay that is commonly found in the local soil. Marl was first excavated in Marlton beginning in the 1830s and continuing through to 1930, when the last pits were shut down. Marl excavated in Marlton was frequently used as an alternative for green manure, as a water treatment amendment, and as semi-flowable fill. Marlton was also the location of a Project Nike missile base during the Cold War.

Frequently Asked Questions about Marlton, NJ Criminal Defense

FAQ: Do I need a criminal defense attorney if I believe I am only being investigated for a crime?

Even before you may be arrested for a crime, it is important to be represented by an experienced criminal defense attorney. A criminal defense lawyer can conduct an independent investigation that may uncover evidence to help in your defense or prove your innocence. Just being arrested for a crime can be disruptive and embarrassing and have significant impacts on your life. As a result, having a criminal defense attorney on your side may even help you avoid an arrest altogether if your attorney is able to prove that you should not be the subject of the police’s criminal investigation.

FAQ: What do I do if there is a warrant out for my arrest?

If you believe or learn that there is a warrant out for your arrest, you should contact a criminal defense attorney to begin investigating the facts and circumstances of whatever offense you are being arrested for to start developing an effective legal defense. A thorough investigation may turn up evidence that might disprove the criminal allegations that you would be arrested for. Alternatively, an attorney may be able to contact police on your behalf to arrange for your surrender, allowing you to avoid the distress and risk of harm that comes with being arrested in your home, your place of work, or out in public.
